Always fun to watch these guys. Looks like Genki Sudo's taking more of a director role now as he hadn't been in their last two vids (as a dancer that is).

Not to hide the real train to Hogwarts? "“Ghost trains are there just for a legal placeholder to prevent the line from being closed,” says Bruce Williamson, national spokesperson for the advocacy group RailFuture. Or as Colin Divall, professor of railway studies at the University of York, puts it: “It’s a useless, limited service that’s borderline, and the reason that it’s been kept is there would be a stink if anyone tried to close it.”"

"There’s a new cafe that just opened up in Tokyo. Like many such establishments in Japan, it prides itself on its sumptuous sweets and delicious drinks.
Its main selling point, though, is the warm hospitality the staff provides. Really, you’d probably be tempted to say Yawarakan’s Cafe truly understands the human aspect of the restaurant business, if it wasn’t for the fact that all of the cafe’s customers are stuffed animals.
Yawarakan’s Cafe is set to open on July 28, becoming Japan’s first cafe designed exclusively for and (according to its website) operated by stuffed animals."

"Residents in a Xi’an neighborhood in China looked on in amazement last week as a 3D-printed house was assembled on site in just three hours. It’s not the most lavish construction we’ve ever seen, but it looks sturdy and comfortable with some nice features inside and outside balconies upstairs."

"the project, debuting on japanese crowdfunding site makuake, comprises three compositions that unite star wars characters, settings and scenes with traditional woodblock prints known as ‘ukiyo-e’. this genre flourished in japan from the 17th through 19th centuries, typically depicting popular themes of the time such as kabuki actors, sumo wrestlers, folk tales, landscapes, and flora and fauna."

"these motifs have been reinterpreted and reconsidered to suit images sourced from the film franchise, like darth vader wielding a lightsaber and a scene from the battle of hoth. each graphic has been meticulously hand-carved by a wood sculptor, who creates multiple blocks for each represented color created by the painter. finally, another craftsman prints the final result on japanese paper — 200 limited edition copies have been made of each star wars composition."

My initial interactions with both iCloud Music Library and iTunes Match were not favorable to say the least since both times I turned them on, it pretty much removed the playlists on my phone after a routine sync and there was no way that I could see to add them back.
The problem was that it was taking much too long for Apple to match/upload my library (and I don't even think I have that big of a library). So until that process is completed, songs are just not available on your other devices. And there's no way that I could see to have the service match/upload specific songs/playlists that you might want to have processed first.
But this time I just let it run and after a day or so everything seems to be back in place. Subsequent additions of new songs update much faster fortunately. Though now there's also the extra step of making your songs/playlists available offline if you want them to be played locally and not streaming all the time.

"It’s baffling that Chinese state news would use Gundam to scaremonger, especially because Gundam is popular in China.
This is the first time the country’s media has tried to make Japan’s Self-Defense Force terrifying. Back in 2013, Chinese newspaper Global Times confused a Japanese helicopter with DeviantArt."

""There are strong arguments as to why it may be detrimental, and there are strong arguments why it could be good," said Richard Emslie, of the African Rhino Specialist Group.
Breeders say dehorning is quick and painless, similar to trimming a horse's hoof. Rhinos grow about 1-2 pounds (up to a kilogram) of horn a year, which would give owners up to 10 harvestable horns within an animal's lifetime. A DNA database to track rhino horn exists."

News to me too, first time I've ever come across this, but as you say it's just a huge nail and if this is genuinely allowed it's somewhat disturbing as it's just feeding the myth that they have special curative properties etc! :(

"What did you do this weekend? Did it require multiple units of police back-up? Did it involve a wedding, a stun gun, a drunk 14-year-old, and someone grabbing a cop’s dick? Did it go down in the self-proclaimed Pretzel Capital of the World? If you answered “What is the Pretzel Capital of the World?” to one or more of these questions, shut up and hear me now: You are not one quarter cool as this couple, whose love may one day die, but whose recent insane nuptials will thankfully live forever—in the form of an incredible police report."

"Keepers and trainers at aquariums and zoos all over are announcing their membership in Pratt’s raptor squad. Starting on Tumblr, keepers have been posting photos recreating the famous shot of Pratt’s character Owen Grady taming the velociraptors. I love a good meme, and these photos are amazing. What better way to spread the word about zoos and aquariums?"

Neighbor put up a bird feeder this year that isn't particularly squirrel proof so they're usually the first to ransack the place when it's filled up. But they're also messy, knocking a fair amount of seeds onto the lawn. So a lot of critters, feathered and otherwise, forage around the area these days. Spent a couple of minutes late this afternoon playing animal paparazzi. Still waiting for the cardinals and woodpeckers to show up that I've seen around on occasion.

Is there anyone out there who can actually squeeze a sleeping bag/air mattress/tent back into its original storage bag w/out a ritual sacrifice? I don't understand why they can't just have 'em come with bigger bags to begin with. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
"These are several shots from cat owners in Japan that have turned the back of their cat's heads into Totoro by applying pieces of cut paper. This one is pretty spot-on, but the last couple -- I'm not sure if those people aren't good with scissors or what, but they look more like awful Furbies than they do Totoro. If this was a school assignment I would definitely make those students stay after class to ask whether or not their parents know they eat glue sticks."
