It was 105 degrees F here yesterday. This is the part of the year where I am to be heard muttering, "If I wanted to live in Arizona, I'd move there, AND I DON'T AND I WON'T, SO KNOCK IT OFF" at the heavens. How is everyone else's week, weatherwise?

It's not as hot as that, but it's pretty hot (90+ for the foreseeable future). - John B. - - (Edit | Remove)

low 90s. Pretty cool for a North Carolina summer (but too hot for open windows & AC is required. NTS: you don't live in New England any more) - Stephan1eCogSc1L1brar1an - - (Edit | Remove)

Spouse has been 9-hr time difference away for the last 2-ish weeks. Just called to say he was on the ground in Houston on his way back. YAY!!!!!!

And now he's home AND we drained the air conditioner, so it should stop leaking. YAY. - Marianne - - (Edit | Remove)

I just helped a student who graduated last week by going over his paperwork for his new job and being a second pair of eyes, plus helping him decode his W4 form. Another one for the not-in-the-formal-mission-definitely-part-of-my-mission category.

Two of my coworkers had to chase a squirrel out of the library this morning. Also, did you know squirrels in Colorado carry the bubonic plague? (No one got bit.) Kinda put my worries for the day in perspective :D

Yikes. There are stories around here about before we had air conditioning, and so we left the front doors open a lot in the summer, and the librarian who had Goose Duty. But geese don't have plague. Just poop. - Catherine Pellegrino - - (Edit | Remove)

Every time I have to get up this early, I ask myself how you daywalkers do it.

I have yet to come up with an answer. Though once in a while, in summers when it is a daily thing instead of a monthly thing to be out of bed, and the breeze is sprightly and the sun is warm but not oppressive - I get a hint of an idea about how it could be nice... but the next morning when the alarm clock rings it's gone again. - Marianne - - (Edit | Remove)

I had to become a morning person in Wyoming because I had to open the library every day at 7:45 and because the pool was only open for lap swimming from 6-7 three mornings a week. Now I have to get up whenever my child gets up, but thankfully he is not a super early riser. - laura x - - (Edit | Remove)
