The problem with putting something on eBay is waiting and waiting and waiting until the last day to see how many bids, if any, you get for your item. Why can't it just skyrocket from the beginning? :P

If anyone ever tells you to start your own business, don't. Or at least don't plan on having actual employees for a while. They're expensive!
Did I mention they shouldn't be friends, if possible? Division of business/personal can get messy and make people unhappy. Hasn't happened yet but the possibility is there. <sigh>

Boy, that was a bit alarming. I couldn't find the job info I printed at work at first and was sure I had stuck it in my co-worker's bag by accident. That would have been...uncomfortable. Also, I'm taking a call this morning regarding a submission.

Good grief. I'm sorely out of practice for the phone calls. Pacing around, speaking too fast, and abysmal memory recall. Oh well, that's why I did it. :P

"Happy Birthday remains the most profitable song ever. Every year, it is the song that earns the highest royalty rates, sent to Warner/Chappell Music (which makes millions per year from "licensing" the song). However, as we've been pointing out for years, the song is almost certainly in the public domain. Robert Brauneis did some fantastic work a few years ago laying out why the song's copyright clearly expired many years ago, even as Warner/Chappell pretends otherwise. You can read all the background, but there are a large number of problems with the copyright, including that the sisters who "wrote" the song, appear to have written neither the music, nor the lyrics. At best, they may have written a similar song called "Good Morning to All" in 1893, with the same basic melody, but there's evidence to suggest the melody itself predated the sisters. But, more importantly, the owner of the copyright (already questionable) failed to properly renew it in 1962, which would further establish that it's in the public domain."

Lawsuit: "Happy Birthday" is not in copyright, and Warner owes the world hundreds of millions for improperly collected royalties - Boing Boing - http://boingboing.net/2013...
"Copyright scholars have long been pretty certain that "Happy Birthday to You" is in the public domain, despite the fact that Warner/Chappell claims copyright on it and charges impressive licensing fees to use it in public performances. Those fees, however, are much lower than a copyright lawsuit would be, so everyone shrugs and pays them. Until now."

I think it's about time I update the ole resumes and see what's biting out there. Always best to search for a job when you have one, right? Also, I need to update the various job sites with the new address. At least, that's my excuse. :D
Any favorite sites? I feel like I've been on them all but currently tinkering with ClearanceJobs.com and CareerBuilder.com. I'm sure I've forgotten all the places I was on a couple years ago.

Okay, I must be extremely tired. I just went and got rubberbands from the supply area and can't remember why and feel like it was something I was thinking/dreaming as I may have nodded off.
No, it was your inner brain saying this: take one rubber band and place on wrist. Snap band every 15 minutes.

Back at work again today, the stack of rubberbands on the desk is still not making any sense. Oh well. Glad to know we have them available?

Dang! I forgot to wear my Deadpool socks tonight at work (from @lootcrate). Guess I'll wear them with my Deadpool-Aid t-shirt on Sat then.

Obviously not a heavy Twitter user, I just saw that TweetDeck is still alive, albeit web only. Edited RTs FTW! Also? Sorting and stuff.
