LB: I just did what I thought had to be done. I had been in their IRC channel back when they rescued content from Geocities, so I knew just how good they are at grabbing stuff. But I did see they had some problems with discovery, back then, so I thought there might be a way to make that easier for them with this project. And I thought there might be other ways to help, like with info and community relations, since they were on the outside looking in, with no means of being able to communicate with us from the inside (no FF account). I also thought if they used the API to grab content, it might be easier and/or faster, and I wasn't sure they knew there was an API and existing scripts that could already use it to export accounts. They only used the API to grab the VIP accounts, though, because they didn't have time to do it for everyone. I am just glad enough people pitched in running Warriors to help with the grabbing. That was the really big issue for them. Until I announced it on FF and everywhere else, they didn't have enough Warriors/IP addresses to grab everything. All the ones they had kept getting banned and they had to wait till they were unbanned, and it was slowing them down. At that point, they didn't think they were going to make it. I am really grateful to all the volunteers that ran a Warrior for this project. Without their help, Archive Team would never have been able to save as much as they did, before the shutdown. - April Russo - - (Edit | Remove)

About 77,000 known feeds to go...?

77000 items were left from the first batch. The second batch has been added now, 400000 items again to go. There will be over a million items. - Arkiver - - (Edit | Remove)

Currently we are not saving up to 10000 posts with the api, but jast what can be visited directly through the browser. However, we can still download some sites up to 10000 posts. Those will be on request.

Please invite your friends to this room. We need all the help we can get and I am limited in how many I can invite. Most of my invites do not seem to be going through. :(

I am currently running a Warrior! (Took me a while to understand exactly what it is doing, but it all makes sense now.)

Another way of helping us by grabbing sites is with the ArchiveTeam "Warrior". The Warrior is a virtual machine. Please take a look at out Wiki-page to see how to install and use the Warrior: http://archiveteam.org/in...

If you experienced with script you can help this project by running the scripts available here: https://github.com/Archiv... Please use "--concurrent 1" or "--concurrent 2". Concurrent is the number of sites that are being downloaded at the same time by your IP adress.
