[Cineforum odierno] "Mirror initially polarized critics and audiences, with many considering its narrative to be incomprehensible." https://en.wikipedia.org/... (1975_film)

She proved to be industrious and meticulous, and the pair enjoyed speaking French to each other. But her language and mannerisms suggested high station, which made Pouget wonder why someone so well bred would be working in a place like his.
From hints and slips, he gathered that she had once been rich, but had fallen on hard times. Finally, one day in the kitchen, he asked—he’s the type who just asks—“What happened to your money? Who has your money?” She answered, “My son Guillaume.” Then she became vague.

"As is often the case, Tolstoy’s enemies were no more alarming than his so-called friends, for instance, the pilgrims who swarmed Yasnaya Polyana: these volatile characters included a morphine addict who had written a mathematical proof of Christianity; a barefoot Swedish septuagenarian who preached sartorial “simplicity” and who eventually had to be driven away “because he waas beginning to be indecent”; and a blind Old Believer who pursued the sound of Tolstoy’s footsteps, shouting, “Liar! Hypocrite!”"

Stupid Watergate
A federal grand jury in Washington on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller, according to sources briefed on the matter. http://edition.cnn.com/20...
The charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge. Plans were prepared Friday for anyone charged to be taken into custody as soon as Monday, the sources said. It is unclear what the charges are.

Bald–hairy (Russian: лысый–волосатый) is a common joke in Russian political discourse, referring to the empirical rule of the state leaders' succession defined as a change of a bald/balding leader to a hairy one and vice versa. This consistent pattern can be traced back until as early as 1825, when Nicholas I succeeded his late brother Alexander as the Russian Emperor. https://en.wikipedia.org/...

The advice applies to cars registered in all parts of the UK, including Northern Ireland. [...] Northern Ireland is not a part of Great Britain - which is made up of England, Scotland and Wales - but the GB sticker is used for cars from all parts of the UK. [...]
Many nationalists in Northern Ireland, identify as Irish rather than British, raised objections on social media to being required to have a GB sticker

Supporters say suspending Parliament would respect the 2016 referendum by guaranteeing the UK leaves the EU on 31 October.
But opponents say it would be undemocratic and undermine MPs - most of whom are against no deal. Tory backbencher Dominic Grieve called the move "an outrageous act".
