Per il momento ho pensato a una parte di "messa in guardia" (senza fare allarmismo), sulla traccia di quanto scrive Schneier sul suo blog per esempio qui https://www.schneier.com/... . McAfee sulla vicenda fbi vs Apple. "This is a black day and the beginning of the end of the US as a world power. The government has ordered a disarmament of our already ancient cybersecurity and cyberdefense systems, and it is asking us to take a walk into that near horizon where cyberwar is unquestionably waiting, with nothing more than harsh words as a weapon and the hope that our enemies will take pity at our unarmed condition and treat us fairly."

- naltro - - (Edit | Remove)

[…] in the coming weeks, we will restrict access to articles on WIRED.com if you are using an ad blocker. There will be two easy options to access that content. You can simply add WIRED.com to your ad blocker’s whitelist, so you view ads. When you do, we will keep the ads as “polite” as we can, and you will only see standard display advertising. You can subscribe to a brand-new Ad-Free version of WIRED.com. For $1 a week, you will get complete access to our content, with no display advertising or ad tracking. - Dagostinovich from Bookmarklet - - (Edit | Remove)

[…] every so often, company co-founder Mike Krieger, normally a jovial character, would suddenly turn serious and intense. He would hunker over his computer keyboard and mutter “We’ve gotta fix this.” This meant that Instagram had slowed to a crawl for users across the globe, and the cause was always the same: Justin Bieber. Or almost always. Sometimes, it was Kim Kardashian. - Dagostinovich from Bookmarklet - - (Edit | Remove)

The bubbles are a subtle, little, silly thing but they are experienced by millions of people. That amplifies that product decision into a unsubtle, large, sort-of-serious thing. The people who are tweeting negatively about green bubbles are following Apple’s lead. It’s speculative, but not totally speculative to say that Apple may be aware it’s leading this way—after all, Apple has done passive-aggressive product design before, like giving Windows machines on its network a “Blue Screen of Death” icon. - Dagostinovich from Bookmarklet - - (Edit | Remove)

A CCC made Apple TV App for displaying CCC-talks may not be released on the platform. According to Apple the app is in breach of developer terms and conditions because it enables access to content of which the company disapproves: Apple criticizes that the CCC's app allows watching publicly given talks, which among others deal with security holes in the widely used Bluetooth technology, or help "jailbreaking" Apple devices - enabling the use of applications that have not been approved by Apple. The talks criticized by Apple are all available under the website media.ccc.de and can also be watched through the Apple TV YouTube app, which is not criticized by Apple. - Dagostinovich from Bookmarklet - - (Edit | Remove)

"[…] as online audiences have grown, the pain of moderating conversations on the web has grown, too. And in many cases, the most vibrant coversations about a particular article or topic are happening on sites like Facebook and Twitter. So many media companies are giving up on comments, at least for now. So far this year, Bloomberg, The Verge, The Daily Beast and now Motherboard have all dropped their comments feature." - Dagostinovich from Bookmarklet - - (Edit | Remove)

"Apple, Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec, and a handful of other tech companies just began publicly lobbying Congress to pass the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA), a bill that would give corporations total legal immunity when they share private user data with the government and with each other. Many of these companies have previously claimed to fight for their users' privacy rights, but by supporting this bill they've made it clear that they've abandoned that position, and are willing to endanger their users' security and civil rights in exchange for government handouts and protection." - Dagostinovich from Bookmarklet - - (Edit | Remove)

Seth [Godin]'s Blog: Ad blocking (http://sethgodin.typepad.... ) http://sethgodin.typepad....

'[…] advertisers have had fifteen years to show self restraint. They've had the chance to not secretly track people, set cookies for their own benefit, insert popunders and popovers and poparounds, and mostly, deliver us ads we actually want to see. Alas, it was probably too much to ask. And so, in the face of a relentless race to the bottom, users are taking control, using a sledgehammer to block them all. It's not easy to develop a white list, not easy to create an ad blocker that is smart enough to merely block the selfish and annoying ads. And so, just as the default for some advertisers is, "if it's not against the law and it's cheap, do it," the new generation of ad blockers is starting from the place of, "delete all."' - Dagostinovich from Bookmarklet - - (Edit | Remove)

Google Responds to EU Antitrust Charges | WIRED (http://www.wired.com/2015... )

In a blog post today, Google general counselor Kent Walker wrote that online shopping is more competitive than ever, and that eBay and Amazon—not Google—are the main players and emphasized the importance of personalized advertising to Google’s business model and to the overall quality of the service. He did not address the EU’s concerns over Android. “The universe of shopping services has seen an enormous increase in traffic from Google, diverse new players, new investments, and expanding consumer choice,” Walker wrote. “Google delivered more than 20 billion free clicks to aggregators over the last decade in the countries covered by the [European Commission’s statement of objections], with free traffic increasing by 227% (and total traffic increasing even more).” - Dagostinovich from Bookmarklet - - (Edit | Remove)

If and when the Google+ brand is phased, as many we spoke with expect, Google won't need to say it killed Google+. Several years from now, when nobody is paying attention, a Google employee can just publish a long list of features that have been done away with as part of a routine spring cleaning. Halfway down that list, an astute reader will see the word "Streams." - Dagostinovich from Bookmarklet - - (Edit | Remove)
