work from home wins: 1) both babies took long naps this morning 2) quesadilla from leftover chili lime grilled chicken 3) hear my son babbling away while he raises his head to 90 degrees, maybe for the first time (daughter is strangely silent on the matter, instead lifting her feet to 90 degrees)... time to flip them over

just got done watching SLA CI division's screencast about going beyond google (been feeling a bit out of touch recently) anyhoo, wondering if things like http://www.downthemall.net/ and outwit hub would get us into trouble with our vendors? I'm guessing so ... but then again I know there's a scopus add in that does that for articles in your results

for the volcano tomorrow: members of the upper management of my research lab who are again plotting to completely get rid of the remaining vestiges of the library or to try to outsource some of our functions and get rid of the rest.

confused:proquest congressional? the screenshot is of L-N congressional. I think I remember hearing pq bought CIS or something... so they got the serial set with it...??? will it be with the other pq stuff with that interface??

PQ bought it from LN... and haven't done much apparently? - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)
PQ purchased LN Congressional lock, stock and barrel (including all the CIS stuff). They're maintaining the LN Congressional interface, but their energies seem to be directed at developing the PQ "Legislative Insight" product. PQ LI doesn't yet have all the content, but it's a nice upgrade for doing legislative research. - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)

Does anyone support Papers? a researcher here wants to add new search repositories but the only tutorial i found online was just to make papers display a webpage. I was thinking more like a search plugin

Can you explain more? I'm probably our default Papers person, but mostly that means I've done troubleshooting to get it to work with our stuff better. - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)
that's this page: <a rel="nofollow" href="http://support.mekentosj.... ; title="http://support.mekentosj.... ; ... i think it's misleadingly-named, too. however, i've found mekentosj.com's support to be pretty decent, so put the question to them and see what they say. i assume you want to add to the list of repositories that appear as buttons in the search window, right? - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)

Random ot thought: why are people *shocked* members if the military "cavorted" with prostitutes. Have they never seen any movies, read any books, driven outside the gates of a military installation,
