It drives me BATSHIT when people talk in minute detail about their methods. I don't give a shit about anybody's methods unless and until I give a shit about their RESULTS. - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)

Power, for now, no cable or Internet. Leaky roof is leaky. Otherwise fine.

Anyone going to #asist2012 who can let me use their room for pumping ? I can buy beer, pay a little to offset you room costs, or give you a ride to or from bwi airport.

I've never been to ASIST and am not going this year, but if you haven't already, you might contact the organizers and see if there's a nursing/pumping facility. I've been to library conferences where this was available. - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)
Thanks. I've never seen any support for (new) mothers at conferences but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)

Help please... the ever so helpful firefox keeps redirecting me away from the page i want. This is for dtic - I typically go straight to the login page to get to the access controlled version but my account is messed up right now - but firefox won't let me go to dtic.mil. I've deleted cookies but no joy. I can get to the regular dtic.mil in ie

i was thinking this was a "feature" like when it goes to a tab you already have open if you try to go to the same site in two tabs.... I hate that feature, too. - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)

Barbara, he forwarded me his message and your reply earlier today. I thanked him for having my back on the day the Chronicle piece published, so he knows his position matters to me. I'm glad he also knows it matters to the community. :) (Fritz is a classic traditional scholar - latin american history - so this kind of debate hits home for him on a philosophical level. Without information sharing, why do we do what we do?) - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)

Ha! Anyone else have Jane's stuff online? The crappiest interface evar and it keeps getting worse... just got an e-mail about how they did a survey and 65% of respondents thought their interface was reliable and easy to use... I should drop their CEO a note detailing epic crappiness

Ooh! I need to get some of those. So often, I just make free-form loaves, but it would be much easier to cut it for sandwiches with those. What kind of bread are you making? - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)
Honey oat from kaf. Unfortunately just had grad unveiling and it didn't rise enough :( its domed on top like normal bread. Smells good though - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)

Chemical society tried to block business competitor http://www.nature.com/news...
1 decade ago from Friendfeed - Comment - Hide - - - (Edit | Remove) - More...
The world’s largest scientific society tried to unfairly obstruct a tiny entrepreneurial start-up from competing with its most lucrative scientific information product. That is the main conclusion of a ten-year legal battle that leaves the American Chemical Society (ACS) facing millions of dollars in penalties and sharp questions from some of its members about whether its business practices conflict with its mission to advance the chemical sciences. - Christina Pikas - - (Edit | Remove)
