so far check-ins with my people in Baltimore are ok. still a handful I haven't heard back from yet. sad truth is many of us doing community work and journalism there 5 years ago have burnt out by now, but the groups and churches I know of still in action are doing what they do best: pulling together resources and taking care of one another. there are such amazing beautiful people in that town. that's what the media won't show you, the true heart and soul of the city.
