Robertson and his ilk are a large part of the reason why I will not attend services anywhere other than UU and UCC churches, unless the place and preacher in question are vouched for by someone I know and trust. - friarw - -

This week's sermon will be on homosexuality and the Bible. It will be the most controversial sermon I have ever preached, and will not be (in the words of Fox News) "fair and balanced." I will be presenting another way to interpret passages in the Bible used against homosexuals and arguing for full inclusion of LGBT folk in the church.

The sermon I am writing "Women Need Not Apply: The Role and Status of Women in the Bible" is killing me, people! Good God, the patriarchy in so much scripture is both plenteous and nauseating.
